David Alonso Locks Pole Position in Moto3 Qualifying

Back again, David Alonso showed how luck is always on his side, and this time he didn’t waste it at all.

The Spanish Moto3 race week at Jerez was an exciting stage for him, after his dominance in the previous practice sessions, as he had already shown in Austin.

David Alonso’s dominance in qualifying
Alonso from the Aspar Racing team again put himself at the top, recording a time of 1:44.954, on a track that was shining again after the morning rain.

David Munoz finished second with a gap of 0.2 seconds behind him, while Collin Veijer took P3, even though he was more than a second behind.

Championship leader Daniel Holgado had to give up starting from 18th after suffering an accident that forced him to limp.

Exciting Training and Qualifying Sessions
The official practice session started with sunrise at the Circuito de Jerez after the track was soaked in rain, following the MotoGP practice and qualifying sessions.

In Q1, Vicente Perez replaced Jose Antonio Rueda who is still recovering after an emergency appendectomy in Austin.

The fastest participant in this session was Ángel Piqueras with a time of 1:47.823, highlighting the riders’ struggle to adapt to the dry track and increasing confidence.

Fierce Battle in Moto3 Qualifying
In Q2, the battle for pole position became fiercer. David Alonso, the favourite, leads with a significant time advantage.

When the session entered a critical stage, his main rival, Daniel Holgado, had an accident at Turn 5, forcing him to start the race from a position far behind.

However, Alonso was not tempted to relax his attack.

With new tires, he showed his skill by recording the fastest time, 1:44.954, which no one was chasing.

David Munoz and Collin Veijer complete the front row, while the rest of the riders will have to adapt their strategies for the race.

Moto3 qualifying in Spain was once again a proving ground for David Alonso.

With a solid pole position, he secured pole position and was ready to face a fierce battle on the Jerez track.
